“State Motorcycle Organization Launches Safety and Awareness Campaign”

May 11, 2005

CMT/ABATE, Concerned Motorcyclists of Tennessee/American Bikers Active Towards Education, in cooperation with Tennessee Department of Safety and the Motorcycle Rider Education Program, have launched a billboard and bumper sticker campaign in support of the Tennessee Legislature’s Joint Proclamation of  “May is Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month.

Rep. Judd Matheny, (D) McMinnville sponsored the House Joint Resolution, HJR 021, which was adopted on February 2, 2005 and signed into law by Governor Bredesen on February 22, 2005.

Lamar and Clear Channel One will be putting up over 50 billboards across the state. They have agreed to lower production and service prices, to defray the costs and help save TN motorcyclists lives. In Nashville also will begin to see ads on some of our city buses.

CMT/ABATE; Inc. is a non-profit, political organization that was formed to preserve freedom and safety for all Tennesseans who enjoy motorcycling. The major goals of CMT/ABATE are to modify existing laws that are detrimental to motorcycle safety and enjoyment, and to enact new legislation in support of all motorcyclists who ride in Tennessee.
