Well the riding season and events are about to take off. I am looking forward to getting around to our CMT/ABATE events. I just built some hard bags for my bike I call a "Quadracycle".  I call it that since I have the add on training wheels. I'm sure as we baby boomers age I will have more training wheel company on the road.

Well our legislation is moving along.  SB1511 Helmet Modification passed the Senate floor vote 19 to 10, and now HB1283 will go to the House to the House. Our Right of way bill HB1335 was held on the desk for some wording changes.

We OPPOSE:

HB1536/SB101 no kids under 12 bill is going nowhere so far.

HB0201/SB0550 the Wheelie bill passed the House and was rolled in the Senate Transportation Committee to April 18. There are several other bills we are keeping our eyes on.

We are working with the state on safety and awareness programs. The State is happy with the way CMT/ABATE Inc. has handled and is handling these programs, according to John Milliken the Dept. of Transportation Safety person. CMT/ABATE will continue to do whatever we can to promote safety and awareness. We need everyone, whether an ABATE member or not, to contact their Nashville representatives, and let them know we want Freedom, we want tougher ROW laws and we want Safety and Education.

We can present these to our state reps but it's the calls from people in their districts that makes the difference. If you don't call then don't bawl when you don't have freedom.
